The Rio Conventions Pavilion was launched in 2010 as a joint outreach platform of the CBD, UNCCD and UNFCCC Secretariats, supported by the Global Environment Facility and partners. It was held alongside major COPs to showcase how the three Conventions could work together, share scientific findings, and promote integrated solutions linking biodiversity conservation, climate change mitigation and adaptation, and sustainable land management.
Through thematic days, high-level dialogues and partner events, the Pavilion fostered collaboration among governments, scientists, civil society and the private sector to translate global commitments into coherent action on the ground.
